1 Peter 2:1
In thinking about the challenge that Peter makes yo us to be “holy” here on God’s Daytimer, I would like you to consider this verse:
1 Peter 2:1
1Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.
As I mentioned a couple of days ago, one of the best ways to display holiness is by loving well. Part of loving well is found in today’s verse, ultimately being fulfilled in watching what we say. My encouragement is to use our mouths for positive things. Building people up, encouraging them, extending words of truth, grace and mercy. Let us us try hard to keep from using our mouths for making negative comments about others or for engaging in gossip. Ask the Lord to show you when you are using your mouths to tear down instead of build up and to help you live good lives by using your mouths for His glory.
