Isaiah 41:10 (Message)
Welcome to Online Bible Studies
Today’s Bible verse is
Isaiah 41:10 (MSG)
10 Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.
Let’s read the verse in context:
Isaiah 41:10-20 (MSG)
10 Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you. 11 “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you will end up out in the cold— real losers. Those who worked against you will end up empty-handed— nothing to show for their lives. 12 When you go out looking for your old adversaries you won’t find them— Not a trace of your old enemies, not even a memory. 13 That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you.’ 14 “Do you feel like a lowly worm, Jacob? Don’t be afraid. Feel like a fragile insect, Israel? I’ll help you. I, God, want to reassure you. The God who buys you back, The Holy of Israel. 15 I’m transforming you from worm to harrow, from insect to iron. As a sharp-toothed harrow you’ll smooth out the mountains, turn those tough old hills into loamy soil. 16 You’ll open the rough ground to the weather, to the blasts of sun and wind and rain. But you’ll be confident and exuberant, expansive in The Holy of Israel! 17 “The poor and homeless are desperate for water, their tongues parched and no water to be found. But I’m there to be found, I’m there for them, and I, God of Israel, will not leave them thirsty. 18 I’ll open up rivers for them on the barren hills, spout fountains in the valleys. I’ll turn the baked-clay badlands into a cool pond, the waterless waste into splashing creeks. 19 I’ll plant the red cedar in that treeless wasteland, also acacia, myrtle, and olive. I’ll place the cypress in the desert, with plenty of oaks and pines. 20 Everyone will see this. No one can miss it— unavoidable, indisputable evidence That I, God, personally did this. It’s created and signed by The Holy of Israel.
Today’s Quiet Time with God
I thought we could all use a little reminder of who is in control! No matter what the circumstances look like. God is still God! He is in control! So do not fear, do not be dismayed, for He is our God. He can make rivers flow over barren heights, He can tun the deserts into water, He can set Pines in the wasteland. Know today that you can trust God. He is faithful, He is true, He never changes, and He is in control!

1 John 2:24-25
March 31, 2008
Welcome to Online Bible Studies
Today’s Bible verse is
1 John 2:24-25 (NIV)
See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us–even eternal life.
Let’s read the verse in context:
1 John 2:20-27 (NIV)
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist–he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us–even eternal life. I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit–just as it has taught you, remain in him.
Today’s Quiet Time with God
What a great promise, “eternal life”. Do you ever think about what it will be like when we are finally united with Him forever. I sometimes try and imagine what it might be like. I think of the song by Mercy Me:
“Surrounded by His glory
What will my eye see
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knee will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine”
John’s admonition today is to stand firm in this life. He warns us about being lead astray by people who are not telling the truth. He reminds us that we can know the truth as we listen and respond to the Holy Spirit. Keep you eyes fixed on Jesus. With an eye to our eternal life as the reward for everything that heppens here, dive in to all that Gos has for you today. You will be blessed as you do!
